Can’t Post any offensive statements agaisnt Govt. on the Social Media

Kapil Sibal (Indian Information Minister) has passed a law that anyone posting anything ‘offensive’ on the Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc) can be jailed for three years. It’s a cognizable offense so you have to be arrested and apply for bail, danger, obstruction, insult, injury, criminal intimidation, enmity, hatred, or ill-will, persistently makes by making use of such. Kapil Sibal says that people like Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev are a threat to India. Minister for Telecom and IT Kapil Sibal’s move to ask Social Media websites to filter content potentially defamatory to Congress leaders is highly unnecessary, objectionable and
akin to imposing political censorship on internet.
